Mr Vanhegan specialises in disorders of the spine, particularly consequent to neck and back injury as well as injury to bones and soft tissues and general joint disorders.
His work is nearly equally divided between routine orthopaedic practice and medico-legal work and he sees about 200 private patients a year and 290 persons for medico-legal assessment.
His hours of availability are 8.30 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday with 24-hour on-call availability. He is available to see orthopaedic patients as emergencies and has admitting rights to the Wellington Hospital and the London Clinic for admission and surgery though now preferring to refer patients to appropriate specialists for major surgery.
Mr Vanhegan is prepared to visit patients with medical claims at home and, where necessary, in Custody. He has been to Rome and back in a day for medical assessment and helped to resolve three medical negligence claims in Hong Kong. He has been involved with Workers Compensation Cases in Australia and attended two consequent Hearings in London.
